just not much to talk about I guess. Politics is boring and seems to drive away half the regulars. Lets talk about some safe non-controversial subjects like gay marriage and abortion.

Ok gay marriages, what exactly is going on? Ive heard bits and pieces so correct me if im wrong, a mayor in cali' ok'd it and the governor is shitting himself?

Newsom in San Francisco okayed it and the right wing Christians are really upset. The Jesus folk should leave the gays alone. I just can't see anyone personally hating someone because of a personal trait. Wait, that sounds like what happened to the black people not too long ago. Shit, I'm all confused now.

Cheers to Newsom for finally putting it on the table. We have been fighting over this for years and it's about time we resolve it. This is how things get accomplished in this country, some brave guy with nothing to lose says hey what the fuck, let's do it and see what happens. The courts can resolve it but at least it's resolved.

As for abortion, I'm not really strong on this issue. Anyone would agree that abortion is a terrible thing, but half think it is a lesser evil than what can happen if a baby is born into what cannot be described as anything less than hell, while others think it is more of an evil. I think we should stick with Roe v. Wade for now.

I have to say, I don't see what the problem is. I grew up around gay people, and to me gay people are just like straight people except they like the same sex. Big DEAL. Why shouldnt 2 people who love each other be able to get married. You can't legislate morality. I hate the God Squad.

I WORK WITH GAY PEOPLE AND THEY ARE COOL. ONE OF THEM HAS A BOYFRIEND AND TWO ADOPTED CHILDEREN. IF THEY CAN PROVIDE A LOVING HOME FOR THE CHILD THEN WHY NOT...

I just can't believe some people still think of homosexuality as a "lifestyle choice." Who would CHOOSE that. Look what you're subjecting yourself to. I think that people are born the way they are, though I know there is that percentage of people who are always in transition one way or the other.

I like most gay people more than I do straight. They know what oppression is and they (for the most part) just want to be excepted like everyone else.
